About Tri-State Jazz Society and Membership

Membership Information

Tri-State Jazz Society, formed in 1988, is dedicated to the preservation and live performance of early jazz, including traditional New Orleans, Dixieland, swing, ragtime, stride piano and boogie-woogie.

The society’s concerts feature leading professional small bands and soloists. All events are open to the public and anyone who enjoys traditional jazz is invited to join. Monthly concerts are presented in Wallingford, PA and Haddonfield New Jersey to serve the entire Delaware Valley.

The society is a non-profit educational corporation supported by its members.

First-time attendees (and first-time members) are admitted for free that day when they start a new first-time TSJS annual membership ($20). In addition, members pay only $10 per concert (50% of the standard admission) for the year - savings from two concerts covers the basic membership fee. (Please note, this special offer applies to first-time attendees, and first-time members, and therefore those who are renewing or reinstating membership are not eligible for the free concert admission.)

Half-Price Admission: Members pay half the General Admission price ($10 when the full price is $20) for all regular concerts throughout the membership year. It pays to be a member even if you attend just two concerts a year - after the second concert, members continue saving $10 per concert, compared to paying General Admission rates.

The Strutter Newsletter: Members receive The Strutter newsletter by email monthly, free of charge. US mail delivery of printed newsletters is available for Sponsor, Patron and Sustainer levels of membership. Anyone can obtain the electronic version of The Strutter for free by subscribing at the Newsletter menu.

Discount Admission to Jazz Concerts at 1867 Sanctuary: TSJS members now receive $5 discount on General Admission to jazz series concerts at the 1867 Sanctuary in Ewing, NJ. The 1867 Sanctuary welcomes all lovers of jazz, including performers of jazz, to their many jazz concerts in the beautiful acoustics of their 200-seat, informal, air conditioned historic landmark space. Plentiful parking, wheelchair accessible. See 1867sanctuary.org for their schedules.

Dues are $20 per person. A membership runs for one year, expiring 365 days after you join. Click HERE for a membership application form.

Tri-State Jazz Society depends on the generous contributions of members because basic membership dues and concert admission charges do not cover all costs. The board asks members to consider renewing their memberships at the Sponsor, Patron or Sustainer level if they are able to do so. These levels of membership are described on the Donations page.

The Strutter is a monthly newsletter distributed by email free of charge to members and non-members. You can also read or download the Strutter from this website from the Newsletter menu item. Membership notices are delivered by mail to members who do not have email, but concert notices and all other communications are sent by email only.
