Hailed as “Virtuosos on clarinet and saxophone” by the New York Times, Grammy-Winning Juilliard graduates and identical twin brothers Peter and Will Anderson present the life and music of the iconic American composer Irving Berlin, featuring guitarist Adam Moezinia. Songs will include “Cheek to Cheek,” “Blue Skies,” “Putin’ on the Ritz,” and “Always.”  Born and raised in Washington, DC, the Andersons have headlined the Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, live on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion, and can be heard on the Grammy-winning soundtrack of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire with Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks. They received a 2014 Drama Desk nomination for their off-Broadway production of “Le Jazz Hot” and won a 2018 Bistro Award.

Background

Peter and Will can be heard and seen in the major motion pictures Revolutionary Road, Killers of the Flower Moon, Boardwalk Empire, and The Marvelous Ms. Maisel.  They performed with the Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars in After Midnight, which ran on Broadway from 2013-2014, and featured Vanessa Williams, KD Lang, Fantasia Barrino, and Patti Labelle.  In 2017, the Andersons directed “The Fabulous Dorsey Brothers” in J@LC’s Appel Room, narrated by The Wire and Treme actor, Clarke Peters.  Also that year, they completed a 30-day National tour sponsored by Allied Concert Services, on a roster of artists including The Boston Brass and Ann Hampton Callaway.

Guitarist Adam Moezinia is a native of Los Angeles, where he studied at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) under the mentorship of Jason Goldman, Walter Smith III, and Kenny Dennis. In 2010, he moved to New York City to study at The Juilliard School. Since then, he’s worked with many greats such as Freddy Cole, Mike LeDonne, Cecile Mclorin Salvant, George Coleman and Kenny Washington at venues like Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, Birdland, Smoke, Scullers and Bird’s Basement. Adam has also been performing regularly with his band the “Folk Element” trio since 2017. The trio is rooted in the jazz tradition but is influenced by folk music from all over the world including West Africa, South Africa, the Caribbean, the UK and Appalachia. As of April 2021, they officially released their debut album “Folk Element Trio” available on all major platforms! They have since toured extensively nationally and internationally. Moving forward, they will continue to explore the unique relationship between jazz and folk music, sharing those discoveries with audiences across the globe.
